Happy Winter Solstice

To the returning light!

To the dance away from and toward the sun!

To the richness of the longest night, and all that keeps us warm within it!

I've had this verse in my head all day. Here it is, with our first solstice spiral. (Thanks, SG Suzi, for the inspiration.)

For the beauty of the earth
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies.

Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise.
